At the very outset, I would like to extend my sincere reverence to all the noble minds who had come forward to establish this college at this rural and bordering area of Lakhimpur. I would also like to welcome the students who are going to take admission in this year 2026 into the Higher Secondary (Science) and Four Years Undergraduate Courses (B.A./B.Sc.) along with other certificate and diploma courses offered by this institution.

We feel pride to bring to your notice that Kherajkhat College is the only higher co-educational institution imparting Science education at HS and UG levels of greater Narayanpur area of Lakhimpur district of Assam. Since its establishment in the year 1982 the College has been rendering services to the needs of the students as well as to the populace of the nearby Arunachal Pradesh. In addition to the traditional courses, the college has study centres like KKHSOU, DODL and Sanskrit Learning Centre to make education holistic and inclusive. Moreover college has been recognised as ICT-College by AMTRON from this session.

Following the instruction of the Govt. of Assam, Kherajkhat College has already started the new National Educational Policy (NEP-2020) from the Session 2023-24. The NEP-2020 is designed to promote holistic development of students by initiating them to multidisciplinary disciplines and creating new avenues for skill development. Though we have big challenges in the proper implementation of NEP-2020, yet the institution is fully committed to implement the new policy in a mission mode. In consonance with NEP 2020, our college has established a Skill and Entrepreneurship Development Centre, first of its kind in Lakhimpur district, inaugurated by hon’ble Education Minister of Assam, Dr. Ranoj Pegu, under which various employment and skill-oriented courses such as Driving, Beautician, Electrician etc have been introduced to bring about a paradigmatic shift in education.

Finally, I would like to offer my heartfelt gratitude to all the teachers, students, office administration, President and members of the Governing Body, alumni, donors, and stakeholders of the society for their constructive suggestions and formative efforts which has led to the growth of this institution. We have a dream to transform this institution into a centre of excellence in the coming days and we do believe that we will certainly materialise this through our collective social responsibility and integrity.
